I remember my first CB. It was a Courier 23 Plus, the one with the chrome cover. I thought this was the best radio ever. My handle was Ice Station Zebra.Shortly after I realized that I was infected with CB. I then bought a Siltronix 1011C and every option I could get with it. I was proud of that radio and to this day I still have a picture of it all set up on a table top near a window which I used to sit after school and play CB. I earned the money to buy the radio by shoveling snow. I used to make about 20 to 30 dollars a day and saved and saved and saved. My first antenna was a Starduster mounted on the top of a telephone pole in my mom and dads back yard. I remember the cold days when it was snowing to have my Siltronix tube filiments all lit up and nice and warm. Those were the days. Someone else with a short story?
