I always tryed to get my family to get my radio equipment for christmass, but haven't ever got anything like that. Has anyone else been luckier than me? |

Blkshad0w, I don't think the general population (the family) unserstands the passions we radio nuts have for the hobby. I too have never received a radio for Christmas although the wish lists I give them have general gifts out-numbered by 3-to-1 with radios. They just laugh it off and think I'm being silly, meanwhile being showered with hundreds of dollars of worthless junk. Oh well. I'm still grateful if just for my health, job, and food |

mr rf i have on 3 christmas's recived a radio a alinco 2 meter the next year a rad-shack hx-10 the next year a alinco dx-70 even crazer the first 2 came from my mother in law ( i hope she wasnt hinting i get in the car and go) and my wife got me the dx-70 last year ( she thought is was cute and small ) well this year i got a mike one i cant even use o'well i cant wate for next year

All of my family ,inlaws & outlaws have been instructed to give me cash.The amount is not important.No more after shave , socks ,and the like. |

I got a nice new Uniden Washington from my dear wife. Also an Astatic 575m power mic. It works great and have gotten some good reports. 73 and everyone have a better New Year! |

I always ask for radios, mics, etc. I have even given them a copper magazine and highlighted what I want. I used to play guitar alot and people used to order stuff for that. I don't know what it is about radio equipment, but I can never seem to get any for xmas. |

tonight when i got home a box was waiting with a brand new Htx-10 from a friend as payback for building his kids a computer for christmas... made my day. |

I got a Galaxy DX 2547 with an Army Big Stick Antenna. Got it hooked up yesterday. My first contact was north of L.A. which is about 1,100 miles from my house in Colorado. The sound was so good it sounded like I was talking to someone in the next room. |

No radio stuff here. LOL All my friends, family, relatives and even the g/f all think im a geek cause i like CBs, scanners, computers and Ham stuff. Oh well.. i dont care what they think cause at least im not out getting drunk at the bars or doing drugs or something of the like.. ;-) |

I think next year I'm going to have to try and take it a step farther not only give them a paper highlighted with what I want, but keep bugging them. |

I asked for cash also this year,I figured it shown more respect to my family to ask for cash than let them waste it on things I most likely won`t use. So I took some of my Xmas and bought a Voyage VR9000, and thanks to copper and their forum I was able to do the NPC-RC modification they have posted in the subscriber preview section.So needless to say I am a happy little camper that can talk across the lake this year. |
