Rich, I hope you were no where near the tornado that moved through Paris today. Please post that you and yours are all ok. We are currently bracing for what came through there earlier. It should be here in about 40 mins from now. Current time is 6:14pm CDT CEF-443 |

Well, by the time it all reached me it was no more than a little lightning, thunder and heavy rain. I guess the hill I'm "in" that is to our back and facing west kept the winds off us. I did hear reports on the scanner of trees down but nothing major in the foot hills. Still waiting to hear from Rich (Pig040) and Mike (Mechanic). That area was hit pretty hard by a tornado from what I saw on local TV. Saddletramp attempted to contact both of them via land line with no luck. Hope all is ok and I hope to hear back from both of them soon. CEF-443 |

Hey Coyote, I have been wondering about all of you. Several of our members have been in areas of that storm system yesterday and last night. It came through Atlanta about 3:00 this morning, but no damage or high winds like everywhere else. Keith in Atlanta CEF 150 |

Saddletramp, thanks for getting in touch with them and glad to hear no one was hurt. I hate to hear that Rich sustained damage but damage can be repaired and replaced, lives can not. It is not uncommon for these types of systems to come through here. When the temp one day is in the 70's and a strong cold front comes in dropping the temp over 40 degrees, it is only a recipe for disastrous weather. I have lived here 39 years and have become accustomed to these conditions and have seen deadly tornados hit in February and have been in a few of them myself. The system is long gone now and we are finally experiencing more normal conditions for this time of year, current temp is now 25 and like I said, was in the 70's close to 80 just two days ago. I have seen it be 70 one day and have a system come through and drop temps so rapidly that it was snowing with ligtning and thunder and we wound up getting close to a foot of snow at that time. Tennessee weather can be very unpredictable. I believe there were somewhere around 20 tornados produced in TN and KY with this system but somehow there was only one reported death from it all that I am aware of. Glad to know they are all safe. 73 CEF-443 Middle TN Coyote |

First of all Rich and I want to thank all of you for your kind words. I came out of this Tornado in real good shape. All we had at our house was no power and some trees down. Rich on the other hand had some extensive damage to his home. His shop is a total loss and most of it's contents are scattered across a pasture or has disapeared in to the woods. So at this point in time Rich has his hands full trying to figure out where everything is. Again thanks guys! |

Mech, man, sorry to hear about Rich, glad you and yours are ok and what Rich lost was repalceable. The second I heard about it on TV I instantly thought about Rich. Sorry, I had forgotten you where in that direction as well, but I was thinking you were a little bit further west. Glad to know everyone is alive and well with nothing more than material things lost.
