I hate to say it but today it is hard to find genuine good people but I met two of them today and they happen to be members here as well.
I was joining in on the CEF NET and in between was reading my emails. Seems I had one from Starface stating that he had left home and was headed to my town to help me put up my tower.
Now mind you he had no idea where I lived, did not have my phone number nor did he even know if I would be home.
Luckily I got his email which had his cell phone number and was able to call him and give him directions into my place.
I got to meet Starface and Dixie - GREAT PEOPLE, REAL PEOPLE, GENUINE PEOPLE - the kind that are hard to find now days but when you do you feel better for just meeting them and even more so for becoming friends. I can tell you these are indeed two very good people.
Oh yeah they came to help me get my tower up, which it is. That took maybe 30 minutes and then we spent the next 3 hours just talking.
These folks drove 2 hours on a chance they would get a hold of me to just help me get my tower up and asked for nothing in return - all I can say is WOW and glad I didn't lie about what city I lived in heheehe....
I know there are more of you out there just like these two fine individuals and I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you someday as well.
Starface and Dixie - Thanks and you are always welcome but Katie says next time you have to come for Ice Cream with us....

Tim, Bev, and little darlins!
You made Starface cry! You folks are the best
we have come across in A LONG time!
We have met a lot of people off the computer, and evidently they didn't feel we were up to their standards either in looks or money or sumfin! After the first meeting, they never contacted us again. We had a wonderful time and hope to have many more with your FANTASTIC family. Hope to meet each and every
one of the CEF folks (if the good LORD gives us that much time here),, Like we said, what ya see with us is how we are all the time. We dont believe in being up-ity or pretending to be what we aren't. Life is too short to be that way!

Lots of good people out there. You gotta have trust and give people a chance and vise versa. Ya know in the times we live in this stuff is rare.
Take VanillaGorilla for instance. Now thats a great guy for sure. Gave him my address to mail me a QSL card. I still have all my radios and stuff. no break ins. Just pickin on ya VG, where you at man! |

Well now Dixie, don't know about those others but you obviously seen us with out any preparation as we didn't know you were coming by till you were about here. As you can see we aren't rich or any Ken and Barbie, heck I'm just an old fat man with no hair. Wouldn't have offered an open invitation to someone who knows where I live unless I meant it and you indeed have one.
Will see you tomorrow with my little guy.

Never have to look to far to find Good Friends on are forum.
Thats why we are here to help, Each other and to make freinds .
