To PREVENT this CALL the following Number from your cell phone: 1-888-382-1222 It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It BLOCKS your number for 5 Years. You can also do it ONLINE at: www.donotcall.gov Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Justlou, From your LINK you posted above. In any case, the Federal Trade Commission does allow cell phone users to add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry — the same one already in force for landlines — either on the Web or by calling 1-888-382-1222. So why not just take a minute and MAKE SURE your Number is added to the National Do Not Call Registry. Then it will make NO DIFFERENCE if it is a Hoax or Not as your Cell Phone Numbers WILL be Protected for up to 5 Years. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN

Just to let you all know, both of my home numbers are on the "DO NOT CALL LIST" and I continue to get messages on my answering machine from companies(usually 1 or 2 per day). The messages usually have "If you're number is on the "do not call list" press 9 to be removed from our system. Alot of help the list is. |

I'm getting' them, too! The thing that torques me is that, they insult my intelligence by calling as if I don't have the sense to LOOK for something if I wanted it! If I DO get these calls, I get downright belligerent with them and ask 'em that question and threaten to turn them in! CLICK--brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! |

How long have you been on the list? I stopped receiving calls about 3 months after getting on the list. |

Wasnt there some kind of phone-zapper (something like that) that was supposed to deal with the landline telemarketers? Maybe it was just another trinket? I dunno. Here's another goody along the same lines. My ex and I divorced a few years ago, both have our own places, etc. She moved, I got a bill from the electric company to pay her LAST bill because she hadnt told them of her new address (another story) but that all cleared up, no issues. Why did I get the bill? Apparently, even though I had requested it, the Utility Company 'forgot' to take my SS# off the account. Lesson learned there...make sure you get it in writing!! I digress...anyway..the issue remained however that AFTER I had gotten a bill in HER name to MY address, in came a flood of junk mail!! She never lived here, never gave out my address (yes we are on good terms believe it or not..lol). So I questioned the Electric Company about "selling" my address. 'No comment' is all I got! SO caught in the act, the Electric Company sold my address. I didn't think a utility company could do that but, but obviously so. However, this stuff makes good fireplace starter material, so it all works out!-- |

Once had acall front an Auto Glass repair place looking for work. I asked how much to replace the rear window in an MGB. They quoted me a price of $200. I told them that it was a bit high - especially as MGB's dont have a back window. It's is nice not to get telemarketer calls now. Of course I think my answering machine message may help too - "Hi - look I can't be bother answering the phone so leave a message". |
