I was on line tonight for almost 2 hours, in that time MANY posts were made and made it to the board (mods were quick tonight.) During that time I had the chat room opened up a few times and NOBODY joined in! I know darn good and well others were viewing and posting. I have had some wonderful conversations in the chat room and it seems that lately it is going to waste. DX is DOWN lately, use the chat room, heck I'm gonna have to start posting the chat room contacts in the CEF contacts if conditions keep up, which they will.... Just kidding  |

I am apparently not smart enough to figure out how to use the chat room. Every time I enter my username and password, the screen looks like it's going to load and then it takes me right back to the start-up screen. Any suggestions? |

Sorry, but you do not need to be a CEF Radio Club Member to use the Copper Chat Room.
It is OPEN to all Copper Forum Members. 
Depending on the Server you have or the Firewall you are using you may have to shut the Firewall down or adjust your settings.
I am in the Chat Room Now.

As for log on problems....... I use passwords with lower case, caps and numbers. Try not using the caps and type all in lower case, it worked for me. The forum needs the caps, the chat room reverted my password to all lower case.

Also... FYI turn your speakers up a tad, you can keep it sitting in the background and it will make a noise when someone comes posts. That page uses very little resources so you will not notice it. It DOES look out to the room every so often but I'm on a dial-up and don't notice a speed change |

would it be possible to have the number of people using the chat room next to the link, or have it change colors when someone is using it,
it just a waste of time to log in and find there's no one there! |

Just click on the link and it will tell you how many are on line, no need to log all the way in. |

Just went to the chat room and not a sole but myself and it looks as though it's been this way most of the day.
Chad, Try joining our round table on Echo-Link in the evenings, after around 6:00 PM central time. Lon is on Echo-Link most of the day.
If you've never used Echo-Link the URL is echolink.org and for those that don't know you must have an amateur radio license to use Echo-Link, after you once register on Echo-Link go to the single users close the bottom of the roster. Click on Lon's call letters and you'll find some of the Copper Forum members on Echo-Link in the early evening hours. Many evenings I'm on Echo-Link myself.

Could it be because about 80% may still be at work or driving home from work? 
Figure from Illinois to the West Coast (4:51PM here to CA at 2:51PM Now.
But I am there and On Echo Link and here in the Forum and 1 Radio is on 13 / 27.115 AM and another one on 13 / 27.115 LSB.
