I was out yesterday and came across 2 like new portable radios. Made by Vocaline, radio transciever model JRC 400. They have a mic but the push to talk is on the radio itself.Only has volume on and off. The antenna connection is for a motorola plug. The tag says AM radio telephone FCC type app.no. cr423. Citezens radio class B. Its obvious this radio has only 1 channel. It also has a carry strap handle. No power cord so I'm going to see if I can rewire something to work...who knows. Anyone have any info about this radio?

Class A was at 465 mhz and was the REASON that 27 mhz was opened up .... it didn't work. Today it would .....

The radios of the day are modulated oscilators and very unstable with regen receivers the BEST I ever got with one back in the early 60's was 1/4 mile!

REMEMBER Vocaline radios are ILLEAGAL! and if you turn it on even in receive it will put out garbage all over the 460-470 band! UNLIKE CB this band has part 90 and other public safety radios using it .... a far cry from the " USELESS " frequencies of it's day.

Thanks guys, I found some other oldies too. This stuff really does'nt look like regular CB equipment. Also found a VHF rig used for public broadcasting and it works too. Only turned it on, it recieves around 153 mhz. Have another base rig that definatley has cb crystals inside but is very strange made by General. I'm going to try to get pics.

Your close Bruce. Its an mc-6. Its an amazing rig. It has an S unit meter in the center and to the left is a dial you turn with a needle. In the dial are the numbers 1 through 22, so you can dial in on any number. What is this Bruce? BTW I just found out it glows in the dark. It has a 5 position knob that says recieve and a 7 postion knob that says transmit. They are numbered with cb channels and the the letter V on recieve and X on transmit. These are owner install freqs. I'm sure. It even has a PA which says bullhorn. This thing is as heavy as a concrete block.
