I like my Connex 4800. I always get good reports and they say I'm loud with my mic gain up only about half way driving a little kicker, the 4800 drives amps really good. It has a very nice sensitive reciecer and a pretty good NB/ANL when needed. After about 15 minutes warm up it stays right on freg. Listening to the transmit myself it is clean and sharp sounding with rich tone, like your right next to me. It has sharp looks and just good ol classic CB design. Very easy to use and get used to the operation. Oh yeah it has mor freq. range that I know what to do with. I'm really proud of my 4800. Built heavy and solid I know this radio will give me years of premium performance and its already known to be very reliable. All this is why I feel my 4800 is the BEST hands down. Its a tough decision because theur are alot of fine rigs out there. I have done my homework for a long long time on it. |

Very subjective subject matter. I will not even try to answer this one because I've had what I consider to be some of the best radios in the world but "the best?"--no, probably not. Mikefromms |

Chipswitched HR2600. It's the only "10 Meter" radio that comes with tone encoding and it has repeater capability out of the box. Add the features of the Chipswitch and there simply is no competition. |

Don't even get me started on this loaded question. I don't think I'm going to answer this one, because a lot of you folks here on the forum know what radio I run and several have said it has been slamming you all day or it's super loud. I rest my case your honor sir. It's all in the radio as I don't run a lot of power, and I couldn't begin to afford to have another radio set up the way this one is. Carl CEF-357 |

For A.M, the Uniden 68, and 78 series. For export radios, I like the General Lee, and the Magnum Maverick series. Wolverine. |

I ain't saying nothing, just that I agree with Harve. Just read the feedback I get on the CEF net reports, of course mine at one time was a Grant XL. Carl CEF-357 |

Well I had a Superstar3900HP Gold..still have a Dynascan 148GTL, Grant XL (early ) Cobra89GTL,President AX-144 (Freqed and way peaked) and a PC68 with a super swing kit. Test driving a 2000 as we speak and am being told "TURN IT DOWN!" Never been told to do that before..only keys 3 swing to 8 or so but LOUD I'm told....louder than my other good radios. Grant is also very loud but turned down to run in the mobile without sqeal. HANK '905 |

my grant XL is CRANKED & CLIPPED for DX in the mobile & IT DON'T SQUEAL! & it don't need no stinkin' power mic either-stock uniden! yeah, bigbob, i'm awaitin' a 150 watt S9 base too. apparently will be keepin' the ole ic735 in good operatin' condition for a LONG time, though! don't see sam doin' a REAL base anytime soon(the s3200b is NOT the real base i'm lookin' for!) |

Brewdirect, did you order the radio tuned up, or "stock"? I bought mine stock, and out of the box, the audio was only turned up 25%. I turned it to about 75%, and audio reports were greatly improved. It's also the only radio I own that I use the stock mic with. It gets great reports. |

We have had our Magnum Omegaforce S45 since October of 2003 and WE LOVE IT! Ours is 100% Stock except for the Conversion and adding a Magnum Power Cord Filter matched with a Wilson 1000 Mag Mount Antenna. We use it every single day and have Never had a single problem with it. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
