Hi everyone. After making the difficult decision of removing myself from the forums a while back, I am now back on the Copper Electronics forum. During my absence, I wanted to apologize to those who had questions unanswered, or who received poor information that was not corrected by someone (or me). For those who emailed questions to me, thank you! It is always my pleasure to assist Copper fans with their radio hobby needs. The choice to leave was not because of any of you, it was a concern I had, which needed to be worked out with Lon and the Forummaster. After much discussion, I made the decision today to give this one more try. I hope I fulfill your expectations and I will certainly try to answer as many posts as my limited time allows. Much thanks to Lon for allowing me to fall on my own, and then pick myself up. Sincerely, 'Tech 833' |

Welcome back! Good Lord do we need help LOL! Actually, it's great to see you back Tech 833. I ask that you once again show patience with us as we always must ask and debate the "theory - over what works" topics. It's just the nature of the hobby we are in vice the business/profession you are in. As you are well educated in, there is no "Consumer Reports" when it comes to CB radio, and I know your opinion of ham operators in general. Your knowledge really has helped many of us who listen a great deal. Please don't get stressed when we debate why the sky is blue, Democrat vs Republican, glass jars vs Polyphasers, and why coil antennas outperform the 102" whip (oops that is me!). LOL! Relax and please keep giving the best advice you can (or have time for) and let the rest go. Good Lord, you have nothing to "prove" to us, and the majority here know that. We tremendously appreciate your advice. For those that don't take it, too bad. Go forth and keep helping those trying to help themselves. Some of us do make the same mistake twice, but at least you have never rubbed it in our face. So with that, I'm sure not about to do that to you (referring to your post about falling on your own). Nope, we just welcome you back with open antenna questions. And hey! You need to scoot up to Portland Oregon around 20 August for the NW Modulators Picnic and shootout. There will be a new base antenna we would love for you to evaluate. Heck, I'll even provide you with your first six pack of the Pacific North West's finest Barley Pop, and a lead lined suit compliments of the Dental Clinic. It would be a hoot (that is Texas redneck meaning you would have a splendid time). If you were to give me a lesson in building a base antenna, could you call it a business trip? I smell a 100% tax write off business trip. Hmmm..... Hope to see you there, and of course I can give you information on it. Welcome back Tech 833! We hope you will stick around for a very long time. Sincerely (with some hopefully obvious jesting, except that invite in August is real as I'm headed that way. The antenna evaluation was just bait to perk your interest). Now wouldn't you Copper Forum members just love to see me take Tech 833 to a shootout! C'mon, we need that peer pressure going on! And I promise Tech 833 to keep you out of jail. Jail is very bad for my career so no worries there. We are gonna have a grand time. Alsworld |

Thanks. I'll try and work within the confines of this format. Since I am not a big online kind of guy, the moderated delay forum is a frustrating device I have yet to master. But I am again willing to try. I do not offend easily, if at all. However, I do understand my own limitations, and before something gets me to that point where I might become angry, I distance myself from it. Life is far too short to carry anger and resentment. On the other hand, it is vital that we learn from our mistakes and avoid them in the future. That being said, I believe the Copper forum deserves another chance, and an exception to my rule of lifelong bans for those things which make my human reactionary side activate. All you guys and gals make this thing what it is. Although I have difficulty with the forum, I had to realise that it is the PEOPLE I want to help. And, it is the people here that I missed. |
