I bought a RC truck off of Ebay. It was advertized as working but It comes today and will only go backwards.

The truck is aproximatly 25 yrs old and very rare. I have called every hobbie shop for 100 miles and nobody will touch it.

I also called my local CB radio store and they are not interested in fixing it.

Any ideas?

No it's a Peterbilt 359 with a car hauling trailer, 1:24th scale.

I have 2 of them. My 1st one My father bought brand new when I was a little guy. I loved that truck!

I was heart broken when it quit working and dad couldn't fix it.

I have been looking for another for 25 years and found one on Ebay and bought it with the understanding that it was a working toy.

So now I have 2 very rare and non working RC trucks =(

Well things have gone from bad to worse. I had both trucks on the table and the "new" one backed away and pushed my old one off the table and broke the front wheels off before I could stop it.

I don't know what I'm looking for as far as fixing the one that only goes backwards. I have no clue what I'm doing and I don't see anything obviously wrong.

Chris,
If it is a electronic speed control it's a matter of adjusting your hand control setting. If it is risiter type control (moved by a servo check where the control is when the forword and reverse is when the hand control is in nutruel

Thx for the replys. I've narrowed it down to the resister thingy in the hand held controller. I was able to swap wires from one to the other and got it to go forward and backwards, but no steering now.

I know that it works if I can find the resister thingy.
