Copper Forum Members, Since the Copper Forum is read Worldwide and we have a World Wide Radio Club with member’s in 11 different countries as well as Copper Forum Members form over 19 different countries, lets ALL try and keep the Topics and Posts from being, Gender, Race, Religion, Language, or Nationality based / worded. Before submitting your post please double check it before you click on submit, and ask yourself this 1 simple question, Could my Post or Topic possibly be offensive to another Copper Forum Member or someone reading the Copper Forum? If the answer is Yes or Maybe then please do not post it. Please Remember it is not just the Copper Forum Member’s who will be reading your post's here on the Copper Forum but Copper Electronics also has thousands of people each week who check in, to read and see the Copper Forum for the first time and see what we have to offer. Be kind, courteous and informative and think before you post and Have Fun! Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN

Maybe the Copper Forum administrators need to take a better look at the posts before they are being distributed around the world. The way I see it, you are as much to blame for what gets published here as the authors themselves. If you have any doubt in your minds, than you should think before you approve. I've seen tons of posts on this site that have "slpipped" past your approvals over the past couple years that could be offensive to many. |

Stickshift, We are taking a better look at all posts before they are approved. But it is no fun when the moderators have to read every post and then edit or refuse members posts due to content. Then the members ask why was my post edited or refused. Any time one of the Copper Forum Moderators has a question on a post or topic, the Moderator will ask the Copper Forummaster if it is acceptable. Otherwise we follow the directions/instructions/rules that are given to us to follow by the Copper Forummaster when approving posts. We are trying our hardest to keep things in line and the Copper Forum Members can also help us to do our job by following the Copper Forum Rules when making a post. Any help that we can get from the Copper Forum Members will help us to help the members get their posts approved and posted quicker. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

I know everyone wants a fun place to congregate and talk about different radio related issues. The question, "Could my Post or Topic possibly be offensive to another Copper Forum Member or someone reading the Copper Forum?", is a very good point indeed. The thing is, not everyone interprets material in the same manner. Some will look at a post and simply laugh, while others will take offense to the same post, and others will just blow it off all together. I have been at the giving and receiving end of these posts, as I'm sure most other members have at some point or another. I applaud EVERYONE for their input, be it a newbie, seasoned operator, moderator, tech, or whoever else. This is a great hobby, and we should remind ourselves of this. The key word here is "HOBBY". The point I'm trying to make is where do we draw the line and say enough is enough. It's a hard choice to make. I want to thank all members for all of the input they've supplied to this forum over the years. I especially want to thank the techs and forum master for all of their tireless efforts and countless approvals over the years. You guys have more patients than I could ever dream of for reading all the things you do, day in day out, on your time. Enjoy the hobby folks! Life is whatever we make it. 73 stickshift |

I have been on the forum and a copper forum member since July of 2003, and I have made 416 posts and never had a problem or any of them being edited or refused. But I do follow the rules and guidelines, which does help. If you have questions contact the Forummaster I’m sure any problems anyone has can be resolved. Lowpowerhal CEF #136 KCØSVC

I've been on the forum since 2001, I believe since it started, and have had one post rejected that I can remember. It was a link or something. I can't remember all the details, but Copper first tried an un-moderated forum. I was reading it at the time, don't remember if I joined or posted on it or not. Anyway, someone came on with some personal attacks to other posters, they had to stop that. |

I know this has probably been talked about enough, but I believe the reason for mis-understandings on forums is that things come across so much different in typed words as opposed to spoken words. In typed words you can't read the tone of the voice or how they are spoken. If we are talking in person, or even on the radio, and I made some stupid remark, and you call me an idiot, I can tell it's in a kidding way and we both laugh about it. That's an extreme, but that's how it works. When you type something like that, it's there's big and bold for everyone to read. I've learned long ago sometimes when I would type up a post in haste, then read it again, I would wonder about it. I've then copied and pasted them to wordpad and let it "age" for several hours. Then after the "aging" period, I would read the post and think why the heck did I ever think about posting this junk. Even doing this I've posted some pretty lousy stuff, but at least if didn't get rejected.

Scrapiron, You can say that again. That's why I refuse to chat with my girlfriend on messenger. She can never tell when I'm joking or being serious. Needless to say it's got me in hot water a time or two. |

Scrapiron63, And just think since December 2001 you have 821 approved posts. You must have read and followed the Copper Forum Rules after the Forummaster put them in place. And just think, you were here long before any of the Copper Forum Techs and Moderators that are here now. YOU DA GRANDDADY of the COPPER FORUM! Keep on posting. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Everyone should preview their posts, read through it a couple times and think about it first before clicking that "post" button. I know I do. |

I think it's wrong that you can promote copper products and no one else. If a novice operator is looking for a qualified tech and doesn't know any better then he would think that Copper is the only shop in the US.It's almost like your afraid that others may shop elsewhere, I know I would and do. Moderator Note Big_I,why would Copper Electronics who owns this site furnish free advertising for a competitor who does not help sponser it? |

Another thing to remember about Copper also. Like the homepage says, "Lowest Prices Guaranteed!" So why shop elsewhere. |

i have felt the same way as Big I in the past, BUT!!! in thinking it through, i figured out why i was wrong. it seems as though those of us who's post number is in the triple digits feel that we have a "right" to post our opinions however we see fit. after all, we've been here for a long time right? wrong. at this moment every last one of us is on Copper's website. this is their town and they will govern how they see fit. we are all allowed to move out if we dont like the rules. we can even start our own forum. trying to get enough people to go there to make it interesting is another story. so think about it this way. if you had your own forum, would you allow your post? sarcasm aside, the rule is pretty simple. this is a business sponsored site, and the rules follow in accordance with that. matt |

I can sometimes find slightly lower prices on the Internet but experience has taught me that when you have ANY problems with a product, you better have purchased from Coppers. Also, you will be dealing with a complete lack of competant product support, if you didn't. |
