Good morning guys. Lon responded to a question I had after I had gone way back into some articles looking for information. It was real neat first of all to see how far back this forum goes, time wise. Then to read comments and ?'s about radios and antennas from way back when versus the radios and antennas we are using now. Anyway, this forum is a very valuable tool and a wealth of knowledge for all of us to utilize. so with that said:

THANK YOU to all who have participated and posted information so that we can all learn!

Lon and Forummaster, can I have that raise two pallets high? Karatebutcher, did I do a good job there? Hurry up and get to Atlanta so we can get to the Varsity!

Hey I heard that, yes it would be fun, I love all the Civil War places around Atlanta, especially around where Sherman marched to the sea, and stoped in Atlanta to go to the Varsity, many a fun night there after a fun date, I always took the girl home then went there.

Oh I forgot Stone Mountain, fished there many times, when I lived in Decatur, worked on Snapfinger rd.
All those little country girls with no cars looking for a boy friend and a ride

Hey - I saw a program on PBS that did a bit about the Varsity - "What'll you have, what'll you have? Have your money in your hand and your order on your mind. What'll you have, what'll you have?" It looks like a cool place to have a hot dog.

Could y'all explain why southerners put cole slaw on hot dogs? Being from an area that has a lot of German descendants I eat hot dogs with sauerkraut. They're both cabbage, but entirely different.

ewww... cole slaw on a dog?? sauerkraut, ok.. with a bit of mustard, sure, but cole slaw? It is also put on BBQ, waste of good BBQ I say, can't even fathom the idea. Guess my northern roots still show even though I've lived in the south for 38 of my 41 years.

Northern born, Southern by the grace of God.

Hey KB, I've been on Snapfinger Rd. a few times while out riding when I lived in Athens for four years, and four years was more than enough humidity for me, one of the main reasons I moved to Oklahoma was the humidity of Georgia.
