you will need to turn down the radio, its pushing way to much and that amp will have a short smokey life. i belive they make a 1000v that is a high drive unit. even than i would turn down the power. not many amps can take 100+ and be happy.

The KLV 1000P is the high drive unit.
It will take 60-100 watt drive from radio.
It can safely be used with RCI 2995dx.

Doggie619,

I have recommended the KLV-1000P Base Amplifier for several of the Copper Forum Members who also own the Ranger 2995DX and all have been very satisfied with the performance.

If you run it with 80 to 85 watts of drive it will last a good long time.

Allagator/Gator CEF #115 our CB Mid-West AM Net Control has used this setup and has been very pleased with the performance.

I fell in love with my KLV1000P !!
but you do have to watch how much you put in it
cause too much can blow fuses !
but other than that it is nice amp !!!!

I have a friend who works on transistor
Amps, i hear him griping all the time
about people running to much wattage into
them & smoking them.
Tube Amps are the same./ Tune em like the
diections say & run the correct wattage,
and they will last! It's that simple!

Addition to my last post.

Also following instructions for keeping the
unit cooled will also keep it up & running
for a long time.

Any of the KL-200 model or higher. Just keep that deadkey under 4 watts and perhaps lower with the KL-200 or 203 models.

Check the copper site here. Can't beat the prices on these amps for 10 meter ham radios.
