Everyones thoughts regarding getiing a new mike. I currently use a Road King and also a Diesel 360. Depending on which radio I use, the road king still sounds clearer than the diesel 360. Only exception is the Undien Grant XL where I use the diesel 360, and according to all you guys on the sunday nets, I am always clear. Same thing when traveling and talk to truck drivers, they all say I am clear. Anyway, your thoughts on the Astatic hand mikes for my radios. 40 channel cb's no exports. Many thanks. Thats odd that the Diesel sounds better than the RK56,oh well. The Astatic works very well with any 40 channel cb and should be fine with your grant |

Keith, With well over 200 Atatic hand and desk mics in my collection I have found NONE that out perform the DM-452 Hand mic for AM or SSB Use. DM-452 5-Pin DM-452 4-Pin I would honestly say that I have recommended this mic to well over 400 people since it first came out and I have only heard from 1 single person who did not like the results & performance when set properly. We use them on ALL of the radios that we use Base and Mobile. Just my/our personal experience, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Keith, On a side note I have 2 NEW Proto Type Noise Canceling mics that have been designed and I have 2 copper forum members testing them for periods of 10 to 12 hours a day of actual use. So far the Results have been EXCELLENT when being used with barefoot radios, peaked and tuned radios as well as with amplifier use. They are being tested for clarity, performance, noise canceling, and durability. These are not in production as yet as we are still testing them and waiting on the Actual Usage Test results. These are being tested on magnum, cobra/uniden, VR-9000, galaxy and other radios. I will keep everyone posted as to the final test results when the testing is completed. Sorry but no need to post questions as I have said all that I can for now on them. But Copper Electronics will be the FIRST to carry them if they go into production. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

I've got the D104M6B, it's got clean audio, and seems pretty strong, but I still like my Astatic Silver & Night Eagle base mics best for real punch. |

The SuperStar DM-452 is a fanstatic value. Cber's here noticed an instant increase in my audio and it is really, really clear. Thanks Copper for directing me in the right direction. mikefromms |

Keith: After 41 years air time and using 4 different Astatic hand microphones, both amplified and non-amplified. I've found them to have very good audio, both AM and SSB. Also if you can find some in good working order all the Turner hand microphones do as good on the air. |

Hey Lon, want me to help test the mikes? the radio I would use it on is the Uniden Grant XL that I talked to you on during the sunday night net. I use Road King on my Uniden PC 76 XLW. But I would be glad to test the new mike on my am/ssb Grant XL. " Hint, Hint, Hint " Yall reckon I was too pushy in asking him this? Hope not! Keith in Atlanta CEF 150 |

On my little Uniden PC68, my Astatic Road Devil has fuller sound, more punch, and less tinnyness than my Astatic D104M6C. Every radio/brand needs a good match so experiment. Hope this helps, Lou |

Hey Keith I use the straight Astsatic noise canceling mics exclusivly. Only use the D104 mic on radios without mic gain. I have tried other mics only to put them back in there packages and return to my trusty Astatics. Although if Astatic ever went out of business and all my Astatic mics disappeared I think RK 56 would be my choice. |

A friend of mine put a DM-452 on his Northstar 9000 this weekend and he sounds louder than ever before. I am impressed. He sounded like he was on a Saturn. mikefromms |

with a dm452 slid up a microscopic fraction of a hairs width, any radio i've tried it on can hear the proverbial paint drying...in my case from my cousins house in texas. i don't show too much swing from my amps or radios with that mic either, all the noise it takes in gives me instant dead key of 75% of its swing! it is loud, but...i prefer a road devil from astatic or a dm461 noise cancelling power mic. i need the noise cancelling. but then again, i almost NEVER use a power mic anyway. |

Yeah Bc910 Roger is a popular guy but I never met him. As far as Skip I think hes been hiding out because I havent heard him for a while. Also why is everybody always trying to break their channels? Another thing is these radio checks....people keep on checking their radios. What are they checking them for? Mine is always mounted securely in the same place every time.LOL he he he ha ha ha Take care friend. |
