Hey Freebird, some old stuff here, I might can answer that. I guess your talking about a desk mike turner plus 2, they made a hand mike also. It might not work without having a loud noise in your speaker when you turn the volumn up. On some Cobra 2000's a four wire mike will work and on some they wouldn't very well. Here's how it wires. If it has a switch on the bottom put it on " E". 1. white 2. shield 3. red 4. No connection 5. black |

Freebird, Take the bottom off and clean the Piano Switches inside with a FINE Emery board or FINE steel wool. Then check to make sure you do not have a broken wire from going the base to the mic head connector in the Stem/Shaft connector with a Volt/Ohm Meter. Then take the Mic Head apart ancd check the wiring in it. If all of this checks out ok you can have a bad mic head element. Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Hotwire, Glad you have it working OK now. The piano switches in the Astatic Mics have a tendency to corrode / oxidize over time and it generally helps to clean them about every 4 to 6 months. Happy to be of help, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |
