Can't help you with the wiring for the Icom, but I put a standard +3 on my Kenwood TS 480HX, and I've been told it sounds better than the Heil HM-5 they sent me as a promotional item for the holidays. Bet if you search around the on internet, you can find the wiring for it, Good luck Bob |

Which microphone plug does the 706 have? If it's the standard 8 pin plug I can help with the pin out. And am I correct that the plus 3b is a 6 wire cord? |

doesn't heil make an adapter cord to put an 8 pin icom plugged mic onto an icom modular chassis? can't find it, could be wrong, but it sounds familiar... |

I downloaded the Icom 706MKIIG manual and took a look at the microphone wiring. The modular jack pins go 1-8 from left to right. The pins that are used for simple microphone funtion are: 4-PTT 5-Mic Ground 6-Mic audio Looking through an old Turner wiring booklet for the 6 wire functions it shows: PTT-Blue Audio-White Mic Ground-Shield So to wire the Turner +3 to the Icom 706MKIIG: Blue-4 Shield-5 White-6 Let us know it if works. |
