I am looking for information on this freq. expander.(Kemscan KS-1) It is presently wired on a old Cobra-139 Base useing the 858PLL, what I need/want to do is remove it from this radio and have it installed on a President Washington useing the same style 858PLL chip. If someone could direct me to where as to find such instuctions I would be quite thankful. One of the very 1st bases I owned was a Washington with one of these boxes on it, and for nostogic reasons I want one again. At one time I did have the lititure on the piece but in my last move(12/?/04) I seem to have misplaced it for the time being. I want/need to get this switched over as soon as possible. Thanks and God Bless America and Our Troops CEF-309 OHIOBIKER "575"

If it's still installed you should be able to label the wires, draw a schematic, and install it on the other radio. About the only variables would be the power source, which pc board traces were cut, and if there were buffering resistors installed - and you should be able to recognize that in the current installation.

Just curious - does this device totally replace the PLL or does it just control it?
