**OUCH!** As a part-time flight instructor, I can tell you the absolute worst 2 words that a pilot or instructor can EVER hear. Ready? ok, here they are. "Insurance Deductible" |

Unless the truck was not occupied, someone died in this. Examine closely. |

That is not a truck, that is a tug that pulls the planes around on the ramps, although a very fancy tug,if I might say. |

Guess again. That is a fueling rig. I was referring to the space that would normally be occupied by the driver of the truck. Unless the truck was parked and it was the plane moving, the person who was sitting in the drivers seat would be room temperature right now. |

My conclusion can't be 100% certain, but there are red "Remove Before Flight" ribbons on the aircraft's pitot tube and angle sensor. Because of that it's more likely that the plane was not in motion. Bob

Aren't runway's and other area's that plane's use flat though? Kinda nix's the parking brake. Even if it did roll, being as flat as tarmac's are it wouldn't do that kind of damage, would it. I'd say major operator error. Can you say OOPS! |

Coyote, Yes they are flat and YES a plane can and does take off from time to time. And yes it would do that kind of damage. Planes tend to roll VERY EASY on a Flat Surface. Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

Tech808, I was refering to the truck not the plane. There is what "look's like" a wheel chalk just in front of the front wheel of that plane indicating it was not moving and rolled back when the TRUCK hit it. A fuel truck wouldn't be anywhere near an area where plane's are under power and still moving, would they? Where there is the possibility of a plane striking a fuel truck. Could you imagine the explosion that could occur? Jet fuel is probably, if not the most volatile fuel there is. Just my observation. |

when I found tht pic there was no story to go with it so dont know what the details really are.I did have to crop it in order to get it small enough to post and there were no wheel chocks any where in the pic.as a matter of fact, the front lg is about a foot off the ground! |

I imagine the nose is off the ground considering the it's jammed in the truck. It would be nice to know the true story behind your pic since it seems to have generated a bit of interest and maybe a tad bit of controversy as to what actually happened. No matter what the true story is, someone probably got in serious trouble and someone may have got seriously injured. My whole point was would they allow a fuel truck near an area where planes are still under power and possibly moving? Sg569 said "driver" refering to a truck driver. Most people don't call pilots drivers. Someone else mentioned the red tag attached to the nose which indicated to that person that the plane was once again, not moving. Once again, just my opinion and you know what the say about those. |
