after testing amps w/my S9 i'm not 100% positive of the true effects the topgun setup alludes to. HOWEVER, i'm warming up the weller as i type.... |

Bruce, The MAGNUM 257 has the CP1 Speech Compressor which is why you cannot find the Top Gun Modulator. Glad to hear you LOVE IT! Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

The processer is just that the top gunn from what ive seen allows you to run reduced carrer. I just measured this 257 AM =10 watts out FM =30 watts out SSB receiver noise floor ( LOS ) under .2uv. It is almost the same as my HTX-10 |

Hi everyone!! Well I finally found this post, I knew it was around but my "one brain cell" couldn't remember where it was. Kind of like putting the pencil behind the ear and not remembering where you placed it, kind of thing. Anyway, Lon, any word from those fine folks at RF Limited about getting the SP1 Speech Processors available for purchase separately yet? I have a older 257 I would like to put one into, also would like to know how "difficult" it would be to install. I also have a new 257 but trying to find the time to install it in my other vehicle is getting very trying, plus gotta find the right place to mount it. Anyway, Bruce where did you finally find that speech processor board in the new 257? Thanks for any input you all have. and this time I am going to "book mark" this page... :-) TomCat in Va...
