Does anyone have any radio ghost stories? I use to work on a fishing/shrimp boat in th Gulf off Corpus Christi TX. On night th Cpt told us about a Ferry boat that went down in a storm. He said that the radio man stayed on board sending a mayday. When the sea is rough and stormy you can still hear him sending SOS SOS SOS SOS. Send your stories here or to my email |

Science fiction or reality? Anyone think that a carrier... from say the Marconi days could bouce back to earth off a planet deep in the solar system? |

@ hot... Not possible. Physics. You see in order for a signal to go thru the earths atmosphere and bounce back off an object in space several things have to happen. The frequency must be high enough so that the ionized atmosphere layer at the time of transmission does not reflect the signal back to earth. Once having penetrated earths atmosphere the planet must of course be in the right position to bounce back to the earth at a later date with the earth being in exactly the right position to pick it up. On top of that the signal must have enough power to penetrate the earths atmosphere, travel millions of miles, bouce off an irregular object with enough power to reflect back a small part of the signal--most of the signal will be scattered when striking the irregular shaped planet features--with enough residual energy to travel back to earth and after all of that have enough energy to be heard. Lets just say, dont bet on it ever happening.
