i've been trying to find out what model of pace cb was used in the trans am in smokey and the bandit.i know what model was in the truck but i want to know what cb was in the car.can anybody help me? |

The movies were just on TV and from what I observed they were using President radios. |

Yes it was president radios that were used. In some seans you can clearly see the word President on the rear of the mic. |

they used president cb's in smokey and the bandit 2 and 3 but in the first film they used pace cb's i'm sure of that. |

Those movies sold a lot of firestick antennas and cbs. Sorry, I don't know the model of the pace radio. mikefromms |

Bluegrass, I have searched the internet far and wide to find the answer to this question. And i can find absolutely nothing. I found all kinds of interesting CB pages and movie pages and Trans Am pages.. but none of them, not even one makes mention of the type of radios used. I will keep try'n tho.. maybe "Ask Jeeves" would know.. lol. CEF443 |

It was a Pace cb-166 in the bandits car and I can never tell what snowman had. |

The antenna on the TransAm looks to be the base loaded Antenna Specialist with the spring above the coil, years ago I had one. But there were several clones made by different companies. How many noticed that the tractor in the second movie was a GMC General and the first movie the tractor was a Kenworth. |

Yup.. Smokie and the Bandit II.. of course it was no where near as good as the original.. but then.. what sequels ever are.

thanks ccr778!a few days ago i saw a cb-166 on an auction site and i knew right away it was the radio so now the quest is on to get one as a collector item.oh! while i'm on the subject does anybody know what scanner was in the car?it was a pace scan model but thats all i know. |
