Hi everyone.
Been off air for 20 years. UK based and in a prime position for DXing living in a house edging the cliffs of the UK in the English Channel. As a youth the President range of rigs I considered the dogs danglies. So I now have bought one. It was 6 months old and cost £90 or $128. I am now waiting for a Sirio Vector (Sigma 4) and a Sirio Megawatt 4000 mobile antenna to be delivered. Not sure what else to say being a newbie after all these years. I just lost my best friend who I met through DXing so I thought to honour him in getting live again.
You guys 'could' help me in any information on tweeking the rig for all purposes in the UK, but appreciate most members are USA. |

Thank you everyone.
I have searched and searched the net for CB/Ham forums with great dissapointment. I'm just pleased to have found this one.
The antenna's arrived today and the 7/8th wave Sirio 4000 PL looks superb. There are some great write ups on these antenna's for DXing so I'll let you know how it performs. I'm having a metal anglr iron bracket made up that should hook over thr towbar and hitch on my VW camper Caravelle. That way I can get to some high coastal points and quickly erect my new 30 ft antenna for serious DXing.
I was considering a directional but compromised on a vertical for now. If needs must, I will purchase a directional in due course.
Looking forward to being a regular poster and maybe someday we can hook up on air.

Sorry not to have answered sooner. I was busy re-loading windows.
I will register over the next two days. I have just bought a Zitagi B550P Linear so the station is coming together.
