they are good if you have a bad match.. i.e... 2:5:1 or greater.. an by the proper way to use them.. well the are kind of self explainatory.. hook them up an tune your match down.. lol.. they are good if you want to use say your imax 2000 or 99 for a very broad banding anteena..you might be able to get 15 m or more i doubt it but 15 i think with a tuner.. |

Dxuall I use a MFJ-945 for my ham radio what it does is trick the radio into thinking its looking at a good match. if you have no other way it will give you a way to get on the air.

yes they do work i my perfer to tune the antenna itself using rings or ajusting the lenth . deponds on the antenna. i only use them if i cant get my match under 1.5 swr. just my 2 cents worth |

The only thing an antenna matcher does is to make the radio happy by tricking it into thinking it has a good match, so to speak. It does not correct a bad antenna. The only way to fix a bad antenna is to fix the bad antenna. That Elco guy |

first are you working malti.or just 11 meters? If just 11 meters you should be able to get swr down to tolerable levels if your not running serious KWs. check grounds , try traps in coax.exposed shelding . lots of tricks try Lew McCoys book on antennas old school stuff . if all else fails trans-match will work (tuner) showing my age. well good luck you will get just takes a little tinkering (73s) "cetch ya on the net" I'm off the key |
