Well I have never used either one so cant help you on that. But after reading Tech 833's Review on the I-10K my personal choice would be to go with the MACO V 5000 and save a ton of money and the performance is about equal. http://www.copperelectronics.com/cgi-bin/checkitout/checkitout.cgi?catalogSTORE:CKIE:prodM00-05172+ Just my nickels worth. RU talking of the old P 500 Hy gain made in the 1970s? Its a hard tossup between the P 500 and the I-10K. The P 500 is hard to beat but ive heard the I-10K is a great antenna but me myself I cant see spending almost $300.00 for an omni. A beam yes, but an omni umm, no TY.. I have an old Penetrator 500 (along with Avanti's answer the Sigma 5/8) and when i had it up it worked great but the SWRs went up during a rainstorm or if it was damp out.. I got tired of that and replaced the 500 with my Avanti sigma 4 and have had no ill effects..... Ive seen several P 500s on Ebay sell for well over 100.00 and one NIB sell for 250.00. Junk ones with bent or missing parts go for up to 100.00!! |
