I had a brainfart yesterday driving through Texas on the way back home. I seen a van with a call sign-Number on the back window, and thought what if the Copper Forum members did the same and put our CEF# on our vehicle's. Just a thought.

I wish I knew how to draw something. I can barley draw a strait line, can barely type correct word's,but I know somebody can do it. Can't wait to see the first demo sticker.

CEF Member's
I should of mentioned this earlier.
When Designing your Bumper Sticker, Please Keep in mind that the area on the Bumper Sticker where you would have your CEF Number would be a blank white or colored area where you would have to insert or draw your CEF Number into it.
Like with Plastic Vinal Letter's / Number's.
It would be impossible or very costly to have them printed up 1 at a time with different number's on them.

Allagator, I think you are on to something. That is exactly what I had in mind. That is a Galaxy 949 by the way. Now, if we are trying to show that we operate a radio, would most people recognize that this is a cb radio? Or do we need a more simple looking radio with the microphone also showing? Again, this is great. I feel like I am in a marketing meeting of some sort!

I started on one but my artistic skills are lacking. I would like to expand it somehow to be generic enough for us all to use, promote Coppers and the CEF NET but look real cool.
What I have come up with lacks all of those. Darn computer and me don't get along when it comes to these types of things.
Let's face it, looks sell (or grab attention). That is what we would need. Something impressive, eye catching that covers the above bases, and be easily modified to post our CEF numbers by us (of course this is my opinion only).
Now, if I can just get better putting it together........back to the drawing board.
Did I mention that this is not my strong point?

Hey I want two for the race car.. Sorry I haven tried to design one for CEF been too busy designing one for USAUS Racing - USA for The States and AUS for Australia. Have a great one for that - A map of USA (in white), with an outline map of Australia (same scale and in red) over the top, all on a blue background. |

Seems like it would be hard (make that expensive) to provide a sticker with a separate CEF number on each one.
I would suggest a set of vinyl letters and numbers that could adhere to a window.
A search of "vinyl letters" found a lot of options, like this one... |

With all due respect, I like dindins sticker posted on May 31st. I think it tells via the pictures and the verbage, what we are doing. I think it will make people ask ?, ?, ?'s That is part of what we want. It also gives the website on it, so if someone sees it in a parking lot as an example, they can at least go to website. Remember, not eveyone knows what a CB radio is. So some folks might think it is ham. That is a ok as well. Bottom line, I think he has come up with a winner sticker. Please keep in mind, we want something that will look professional as well. In todays society, TOO many people get hooked up into the "politically correct stuff". I am not into that, however, I think the sticker needs to speak well. And dindin's does. Just my 50 Cents worth this morning. How come we don't have a cents key on our keyboard? We have a dollar sign.

Bumper Stickers are not expensive to produce. K-Mart, amongst others sells Bumper Sticker packs that come with 4 sheets of sticker material (each sheet will do two standard size bumper stickers). Packs cost about $8.00. These will run through any ink jet printer.
I have used them for making the sponsors decals on race cars. Just print them out and give them several coats of clear paint to seal them against road grime, water etc. Heck if they survive the sandblasting from running on a dirt track normal road use wont be much trouble. |

Ya I have to agree with Keithinatlanta that dinin's post is very good and so far I think he wins. By the way that would be about $1.00 a sticker plus some ink. Heck you can't buy anything for your radio that cheap. |

With the starting cost of having the Printer set them up and make them and be able to do additional order's for future member's it would be best for the member's to choose just one Design / Sticker.
AND IT MIGHT BE GOOD FOR HAT'S OR SHIRT'S ALSO.
And the Forummaster sure would not want a lot of unused sticker's sittin on shelve's.
That would take up room where new radio's could go. 
Depending on how the Membership Drive goes we will have a Pretty good idea by December 1st, 2004 on how many to order for the First Printing and what the cost will run.

Lon, more food for thought. Put a sticker in every radio that your customers buy. Put the CEF info in there as well. Talk about promotional activity!! Anyway, by doing this, you will certainly increase the number of new CEF members. And yes, I will be glad to take credit towards the contest with all of them that sign up as a result of this idea! Don't wait till January 2005 to start it either. HA!

Lon, I think Copper should print up a flyer and place it in every base station or mobile radio they sell. It does not matter if it is CB or Ham, print it with all info on joining the Copper Forum and CEF net!

Have the stickers printed without the CEF # because several stores sell black numbers and a few even red numbers in verious sizes and not that exspensive, sell them at $2.00-$3.00 each plus postage depending on the cost of the stickers and printing. I'm sure all the CEF members will want at least 3 or 4 for each member depending on how many cars, trucks, motor homes or campers each member has and of course no radio room is complete without a CEF sticker on the wall.
