I've always wanted a good "deck" mic! Are those the ones you can pull all the way out to your patio and key up? I'm sorry! I couldn't resist!!

Boxcar,

Yes, Spell Check is Nice but it only works on the Text of the Message not the Header.

Go back and look at some of my post's when I get in a hurry and try and type too fast. OOPS

I use the Echo-max 2000. It seems to work well. I don't generally use the roger beep. Its very clear and clean audio. I also have a jc penny pre amplified mic that seems to work very well.

Turner +3B It's the LOUDEST Mic EVER!
Speak with Authority! Excellent for SSB,
Blows Up AM! Has compression, and a modest bass tone. I will never use any other microphone.

It's a toss up D-104 silver eagle (chrome) or my D-104 golden eagle (brass) just as good.
But my turner +2 has to be top one.

For the moment, I'm favoring my dual element Heil Goldline mounted on and amplified by a Kenwood MC-80.

I also have some highly customized Silver and Golden Eagles and am happy to say that not one of them are using their original stock, high pitched crystal elements.

I think I'll take Lons' advice and get one of those Silver Salutes'. I'm very curious to see how its audio amplifier is laid out.

And speaking of audio amplifiers, a couple of years ago there was an outfit on the net that was advertizing a trick way to get a stock D-104 to have a rich, dynamic sound without changing the crystal element. They were reworking the amplifier in some way or another to get the desired lower audio pitch favored by sidebanders. Does anyone know who, where, or how this was accomplished?

Jeff.

i like my customized para dynamics pdc-66
(pro-king plus).changed out the crappy slide pots
w/better ones and then removed the gooseneck and
put a budweiser tap in place of it w/the mic element in that.looks pretty cool.also added channel up/down buttons and a aux. input jack in the back for plugging in my headset w/boom mic.works great for AM and SSB.got lotsa audio:-)
other than that,i like my kenwood MC-85 and the
good 'ol D104's. i've got about 30 desk mics and
it's really not easy to pic a fave, but that's what i'll narrow it down to.
anyone else like the ranger SDM-1000's?

1) Turner Super Sidekick (for Royce I-640)
2) D-104 with TUG8 stand (for SBE Console)
3) Kenwood MC-50 (for TS-520)
