OK, I have really sturdy mast from military surplus (36'), army green painted. I like the looks of it so much, I want to paint my future Imax 2000 the same green to look "military", plus it will blend into the suroundings.

Question, what brand spray paint is recomended to paint the antenna, I want to make sure it contains no metal, any suggestions?

Any spraypaint that contains no led or any other metal particles.

Look for spray epoxy type paint. The model airplane (hobby shop) type is best. Prepare the Imax surface first with lacquer thinner or acetone and terry cloth rags. Wipe it very well, and do not swirl it around. Don't be afrid to use more than 1 rag. It takes about 7 or 8 to do an Imax properly.

I agree with Tech833 but with the shortage of hobby shops, check your local home center or large chain store for Red Devil polyureathane spray enamel.most manufactures of model aircraft enamel like Sig,Monocote,Topflite and Coverite have switched from epoxy's and butylite to polyureathane.

I did the exact same thing a number of years ago to a stainless 102" whip. My old S-10 pickup was black with red pinstripes and some other red graphics. I used an epoxy spraypaint to turn that 102" a bright red that matched everything else, and it ended up looking pretty darned nice, not to mention it did not hinder my performance - BUT, the forward edge of the whip did wear down every few months due to wind and needed some touchup.
