I have a new cobra 29 ltd. I have galaxy finals to install. I need some help with some other mods to make my radio talk???? Plan to use linear as well.. I am interested in helpful mods other than the linear |

I hate to say this but, there is "NO SUCH THING" as a "GALAXY FINAL".
This is just a term used by a lot of Hack Shop's to get more money out of people.
Also for more information look to the Left of this Post and you will see the word "Utilities" then under that you will see "Search" CLICK on Search and it will bring up the Search Engine and type in Cobra 29 or 29LTD and start reading as it will bring up everything that has been posted on the Cobra 29 LTD Radio here on the Forum.

I had the so called "galaxy finals" installed in my 29 by a CB shop and ill say this much it is one loud mamma jammer!! I dont know why CB shops call them galaxy finals ( $$$ maker i guess?) when they are not. There is more involved than just plunking in some bigger finals and going to town. You have to change out several components to make it really work well... But when its all said and done its worht the effort you put into the radio. |

well...the cobra uses the 2sc2708 for its final and the galaxy uses the higher power 2sc1969 for its final. so between the 2 brands there is a such thing as a 'galaxy final' when used in such context as a comparison. if you say 'galaxy final' it should be recognized as the 1969, and if you said 'cobra final' it would be recognized as the 2708.

I understand it takes more than the 1969 final... that is what i need...i need to know what else to do that is what i was asking for |

Are you wanting the mod for low dead key say 2watts, that makes it swing say 15watts? I'll look through my stuff when I get off work.

Hey Crafter, and others,...
Does the Uniden PC 76 XL Pillipino model mod the exact same as the 29?
Looking for mods on this rig,...
I think you can install a Expo kit in it but I want to try the other mods too.

MODULATION: ADJUST ~ VR-4 or Cut D-11
POWER: ADJUST ~ L-14, L-13, L-12

what happens if i removed l14 l13 l12?out of my 29 ltd and i ran a jumper from 14 to 13 which
i did and it works awesome i bought it for $10
so im just experimenting it will probably burn up
evetually huh? |

I had the 69 final mod done to my 29 by DTB radio,who has a website and the mod is actually explained under "supertune".Anyways ,it does 30w PEP now,with limiters in tact.A great mod to go with my dual echo and RK56 mic and always get that "BIG Radio" comment.Although ,I don't think I would do it again,I'd just buy an export with all those features built in ,not to mention better receive.Good Luck!!!! |

I had a 29 that had the big radio final installed and i also had a variable for the deadkey.. It never worked right. It was a joke! The radio constantly went into ocillation no matter were I had the carrier set and the power would drop from 40 watts swing to only 20 just 2 days after i had it done.. I wouldnt do it again.. Id get a regular dual final radio instead.. |
