Is anyone running a Mod V as a stand alone amp. or using it to drive a larger amp. Just curious about your opinion of this amp. |

What is the difference between amps that are referred to as 'modulators' and those that are not? Sounds like a misnomer to me. The modulation is all done by the radio. An amplifier is an amplifier, right? Not in the wacky, fact-depleted world of radio marketing, apparently. |

307 can answer this question in a manner that will be more understandable than I could.I am not a radio tech.I'm just an old fart who has been playing around with radios as a hobby for quite a while.Concerning the wacky , fact depleted world of radio marketing the real problem is figuring out who is telling the truth. You can believe about one third or less of what you hear or see in the cb radio world.I usually find a tech who is willing to prove to me that what he says is fact and I stick with him until he retires or croaks. |

i liked my tnt and my texas star modulators....the bring the loudness( is that a word) up while not really putting out a lot of watts. i have found that running a texas star modulator is louder than a texas star 225. didnt say that it showed it on the meter but in modulation the modulator is louder and remember it doesnt matter how many watts you have if your not loud they wont hear you in a pile up!! id get a modulator any day. they work great for the texas star sweet 16 too!! have a good one!! |
