Just curious if anyone has any ideas on making the craziest roger beep boards or know of any sites that sell these. Other than the usual ones. I heard one the other day that had to be the coolest I've heard so far. It had an "electrocution" type buzz when he unkeyed the mic. |

What i like are the old style "tweety bird" sound boards that were really popular back in the 1970s and some of the Mexicans i hear on skip still use them today. When you key they make a whhhhoooooooppppppppp! sound... I wish i knew someone that still made them i always thought they sounded kinda cool... Theyd sound cool with a unique rodger beep at the end. |

I hear ya. I have heard of the donkey fart ones but never heard what they sound like. That would be a little unusual but funny! I don't know, I just had to ask because I been wanting to know if anyone knew of any roger beep boards other than the normal ones or how to modify one that has a totally different sound to it. Always up for variety in my equipment! Thanks for the input there CM 3885, appreciate it!! BoXCaR |

Kids and their toys.. Sheesh I will forever despise the advent of the "roger beep". I can't possibly understand how the sender can expect the receiving operators to "appreciate" such an annoying electronical quirk either at the beginning or ending of EVERY xmission. Total nonsense. How 'bout we take a poll? Who digs the "beep" and who doesn't? (You know my feelings already) lol Bluesman |

I like them. SSB is the best place for them. When the skip is heavy, I feel the RB is the thing to have. They key is to get one that doesn't ring in your head for days after. But then that's just my two cents! |

Hey Bluesman, all opinions are appreciated here. I guess it depends on the second party but I have heard my fair share of annoying ones also. I guess I just wanted to know if there was any out there other than the normal ones. BoXCaR |

I think coppers still sells the 5 tone beep I've used them you are able to change each tone with a variable on the board. Mainly use mine to raz the truck drivers. I've also got one of the older external toy boxes that hooks through the mic cord and plays mayberry, good bad ugly and a toliet flush with a simple change of the module. Sure can get nasty after 10:00 pm...LOL.. 10:00pm is known as prime time, "Direct from the tower of power K-R-A-P on the radio dial". Obnoxious me? YOU BET! When its not fun I'll quit. |

Actually it's kinda a long story on the train thing. No, not really into trains but my grandfather's handle was "the boxcar kid" and he used to take me on his road trips and the first time I keyed up a mic and talked to a truck driver, I thought that was the coolest thing so kind of wanted to take his handle somewhat when he passed away in '84. It's been a while since someone's asked me that though!! Don't know about you guys but there's a lot of crazy and good memories in this hobby if you've been in it for a while!! p.s. I just ordered me a road runner roger beep board. Anyone heard of this before?? |

I agree with Bluesman. The best roger-beep filter I've found is the on/off button. I think some people enjoy the roger beep more than the conversation. The only thing worse is a roger-beeper with echooooo and 100 +% modulation. |

Boxcar, I have a roadrunner sound module. I can't tell it even sounds like a roadrunner. At least it don't sound like the cartoon roadrunner. Hope your roger beep sounds clearer than my sound module. I'll watch for a report. Have a great day. Whiskyrunner. |
