Galaxyguy, In the ad it is called the Spectrum 5/8. I believe it is a New item from Workman (SP-1600) as I have it in the Update they sent out. It says For 10 & 11 Meters, Max Power 2500 Watts. Gain 6.5db. Connection Female UHF with Mounting Bracket and hardware. From Picture they have in catalog, Mounting bracket does not look very sturdy to me. Bottom Coil in inclosed in a Plastic Houseing like the Cobra HighGear Mobile antennas. Hope this helps. Lon Tech808 |

But how does it perform??? Is it a good antenna when compared to say a I max 2000 or an antenna like my old avanti sigma 5/8??? |

That is WAY too much money for that antenna! The extra ground planes mean absolutely nothing unless they are all 1/4 wave long or longer. None of the radials on that antenna are nearly 1/4 wave long. It is pure show. The Imax 2000 will perform nearly the same as that antenna. |

I put this antenna up about five years ago after using the Antron 99 for several years. It was a great improvement over the A99. After being up for this long it doesn't show any sign of corrosion as someone stated earlier. Mine is very well made and the mounting bracket is a lot sturdier than it may appear in a photo. I would buy a second one if the need ever came up. I have it matched up with an RCI 2950DX and have been DX'ing literally worldwide, of course the radio has a little to do with that. |
