I bought a 2510 from yahoo. Dude said it worked. Got it. No mic , no chord, get mic, get power chord, radio has no sound coming from the speaker, wont key up. It has another plug in the rear with nothing in it.
Will a stock 5 pin cobra mic key it?
help!!!!!!?????

Yes, normally a stock 5 pin cobra/Uniden mic will work fine. Also try an external speaker, that could be your only problem (well, I hope so). There should be a plug on the back . 2510's are fantastic radios.

Can you get a friend to listen as you try and transmit on the same frequency and see if he hears you? Maybe playing with the buttons and "see" yourself modulate on the meter (same for SWR, etc). Coppers homepage (the Support link I think) has some mic wiring diagrams that might help as well.

I have had a mic wired wrong that would not key my Lincoln until I rewired it correctly.

Good luck

and just an "oh by the way", the internal speaker on my Lincoln does not work either, but an external speaker works great! Especially a quality speaker,

To get sound try jumping pins 1 and 7 on the white plug in the back.No a stock cobra mic will not work-You have to rewire the mic plug.

You can jump the pins with a paperclip.
