Whats the most a 2970 will draw amps wise after it is peaked and tuned for max power and modulation?

Check the fuse on the power cord. Use a power supply with a continuous amperage of at least that much.

I suggest you get a bigger supply though. That way you do not max out the power supply on every transmission.

Well i was wondering because i wanted to be safe. I bought a workman 35 amp supplier with variable power but one problem, it causes the radio to "humm" on transmit. Only on TX. The receiver side is ok but when i throw a carrier i get a slight hum with no modulation. My HR 2600 picks up the hum when i used it to test to see if the power supply would cause a humm when i tranmit and sure enough it did!!!! Is there a way i can fix this like install a few caps to clean up the power supply? I grounded the power supply and it took away some of the hum but i still have a noticeable amount.

ya said its variable power is it turned up all the way if not turn it up all the way it will take it another thing if you replace the inlinefuse stay with the same amps i think that one should have at least 25amps. another thing i wouldnt plug it into a multi plug if it is change it and put it on the wall socket thats all i can think of

yes they are and you can put it inline to the equipment instead of inside the supply. these work very well ive used them in mobiles that i couldnt get ripples or wiper motor noise out of and they work wonderfully.

also when a guy peaks and tune thier 2990's and like radios they build up the powersupply section to 30-40amps this is the amount i would use for the 2970 as well. it takes 20 amps to power 100watts
they have 2 2sc2290 power transisters capable of 80watts a piece so your looking at a nice 160watts
so see 30-40 is about what ya want.
