Who makes Palomar amps? From the Palomar Engineer web site, Palomar Electronics Corp the manufacturer of CB linear amps in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s went out of business in about 1980.

I would love to know who makes what...Forummaster was saying in another thread about how they get the boomer 300 and 500 base units from a factory that will put any name you want-palomar, galaxy, whatever.

I have heard that there is a builder called "blueface" that makes the palomar/galaxy mobile amps with, you guessed it, blue face plates. But another person told me that the palomar magnum 4500 and the cobra 450xl ones with the wraparound heatsink and 4 power levels are made elsewhere. (Maybe Mexico)

I have a Galaxy 250 base amp with two 2290's in it, black face, lo, hi, test knob for power level. I'd like to know more about it and who made it, but most dealers are kindof "cloak and dagger" about giving us the scoop on who makes what.
