Hey has any one ever hear of a TS Mod-V that will do 250 watts. This seems to good to be true.I found one in the local pawn shop today with 250w stamped on the price sticker. For sale for 99.95.They advertise 100w on TS web site. even if it will not do 250 is it still worth it??? Thanks Stepchild |

Stepchild, A Palamar 225 sell for about 110.00-125.00 and will swing about 200 watts. There are better deals out than that one. |

False advertising. They do about 120w, and a ued one in really nice shape should be about $60 |

Thanks Tech671 I thought that was awful high power for such a itty bitty box.Two more questions for you,Do they work well on ssb and would it be a good driver for a larger amp?Yosimity,I got your E-mail before this posted and was very confused but thanks again for the offer.I'm going back in the morning and try to talk him off that price.73's |

Stepchild, On the Texas Star web page they show the MOD V at 100 watts and a lot of people use them for driving the Larger amps. On the same page it will show you output with a 100 watts drive for the larger amps. Yes they do work well on SSB. Good Little Amp. Lon Tech808 |

saw one for $50.00 used once in a local CB shop. They are ok for AM but i dont know how well they work on SSB. I think they are a class C amp. IMHO pawn shops are a rip off for buying CB stuff...... |

If they have a way to hook the thing up, show that it works, and above all, let you HEAR the thing, then you can judge. A claim like that makes me think that they have no set-up for making a demonstration. If they can't show that it ISN'T BLOWN, the only safe price to offer is salvage value. They are too easy to blow, and too hard to tell without getting to key AND hear it. 73 |
