i have put the 2000 back on the air again and can talk around the country on 4 watts of power or a
distance of 25 or 30 miles ,it is good and clear, but the modulation could come up a bit. anyone know how i can increase the modulation

Think he means the old CPI 2000 NOT the Cobra 2000GTL..

Best I can recall, getting more audio out of the CPI2000 wasn't all that easy. Haven't seen one of those in ten years, maybe more. If you have it talking at all, you have beat the system.

I think there is a PDF file for the downloading of the CPI 2000 service manual at cbgazette.com. At least it would list the AMC pot. As I recall, there's an upper limit on how high you can turn it before it gets just plain nasty.

thanks 2600 i went to the cbgazette web site and
was able to down load the cpi 2000 manuals , most info i have been able to obtain
