What is the purpose of this???? (Other than making your wallet lighter) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1393360772 I don't see how this "RING" on the bottom of a mobile ant. increases the performance. Is this soppose to be a "ground plane"? I have seen several types of so called ground planes for mobile ants. but fail to see any increase in performance.

I have seen these rings lower the swr of antennas in certain situations where there was lack of a decent ground plain around the antenna..also have noticed a slight clean-up of the receive in some cases as the above...personally don't use one though...so..here's one opinion for ya..take it or leave it |
