We are having trouble getting the new ham amplifiers moving.

Tech307 has reviewed them and has given them high marks. We are also sending them to Tech833 for review.

They are priced considerably lower than similar amps that I have been able to find.

We are currently looking into ads in ham publications.

If you have any suggestions on pricing, features, advertising, etc. please feel free to comment.

We would really appreciate if you would spread the word in the ham communities.

Thanks!

I would also like to add that I tested each one on the bench. They are awesome for the price. You get a lot of bang for the buck with these amps and if you look around the actual cost is a lot lower than the others. The Dual Bander is great. Auto switching and the work as good if not better than some of the higher priced ones that I own in the Ham Shack. I have some nice articles that I have been tweeking up a little and will post them in the catalog soon.

I run an FT-847 for UHF.VHF and the Dual Band amp works very well on it.

May I present the problem, at least as I am able to make of it, in a marketing approach.

A few facts to act as background. The American Consumer is not purchasing as much as has in the past and if the TV reports are correct Xmas will see fewer dollars spent on gifts this year. Another factor is technology and the rapid growth of cell phone technology in particular. In other words why do I need a CB or a Ham radio when I can use a Cell Phone? Another factor is the perception that the radio hobby and or services are perceived as "Your Fathers Cell Phone" aka something old. And Lastly the nunber of people in hobby radio, both CB and Amateur, is decreasing rather than increasing and a decline in the economy does not help this trend.

So from a marketing perspective the CB and the Amateur world have a big problem, fewer and fewer people who want to buy the products. The number of CB people is dropping rapidly. Just listen to local trafic. AND the number of people in Amateur on the local level is also decreasing as well and even worse for the Amateur world is such that we never were as popular as CB.

When the number of people in the radio community in general drops the demand and sales of equipment follow. Sort of like when the CB craze first struck. No one could keep CB radios in the shelves, they kept flying off.

I have looked at your amps. They are in all probablity very good amps. I will take your word for the test bench results. And I understand why you decided to sell VHF and UHF amps as opposed to max power HF amps like Ameritron--you cannot modify them for CB/no FCC problems.

Just a sideline question related to this topic, have you done some research into the possibility of selling a few the newer Amateur HF rigs like the Yaesu 1000 Field (for example) along with a few Ameritorn amps to be used on these radios?

The true answer lies, perhaps, in two directions. The radio community in general is going to have to increase in general without compromising the principles that made it worth while. And the consumer needs more sustainable $$$$ to spend. How does one do either? Perhaps it is just as simple as asing what the few consumers out there want?

May your day be profitable.
