Dave i had 2 959's its a very good radio in many ways if you want a good solid radio right out of the box its a good choice BUT it does not easly modify and if your going to do that think about a mag 257 instead ....... just my opinion bruce |

Voyage VR-9000 You cant beat it for the price $179.99. I own one and highly recomend it. But do you want a CB or a Export, I think the dx959 is a CB? Not possitive, but if so its a single final radio. Steve 400 SE Kentucky |

The 959 is a nice sounding rig when tuned right and the big meter is nice for us half-bats. ;) |

I own a DX 949, which is the same as the DX 959 without the Freq. counter. This rig has been tuned, and I love it. I had it in my car with a Wilson 3 Ft Fiberglass, and talked to Ontario Canada from my driveway in Massachusetts. Locally it is great too, I have gotten many reports that the audio is excellent. I now use it as a base with am IMAX 2000, It talks 35-40 miles(non-skip)and anywhere in the US on skip. I even talked to Northern Ireland on it. Sure there are many better radio's than this, but for the price, it does a lot, and sounds great too. |
