I was just browsing through eBay as usual, and saw a DUAL FINAL GALAXY 44.

Says there were only 500 made? Is this one of those special EEI JOBS? I know they used to make stuff up like that, and a friend of mine ordered a DX55 throught EEI and it had a heat sink too... we popped it open and it had dual finals too... what's up with this??? The EEI Term was EXPORT EDITION w/ DUAL FINALS... (on the invoice).... I was wondering, is this the same case with this 44?

I thought Galaxy only made the 77-99 have duals since they have SSB... is this really made by Galaxy or just a company refitting them with the extra bias parts and finals... my friends 55 did show about 25 watts AM PEP on a Bird meter (about 50 on a Dosy TC-3001) So it's not a dummy final, who does this... if 500 were made, thats a lot of work for a few techs, it would take a company wide effort or a factory to make a lot quickly!

I think I'm confused on this whole thing now, with the Forummaster's permission, here is the item link on eBay:

Galaxy 44 dual final equals....
General Lee, Connex 3300hp. Galaxy has not made dual final versions of their non-ssb radios.

Actually he didn't work for EEI, he lives in Ohio, says he bought this export edition from EEI, but did NOT have it turbo tuned. He got a local to NPC mod it without volting the finals, and that's it. He said EEI was having another outside company produce these like this, because he asked them the same questions I asked him last night! LOL, and it is a Dual Final, he sent me a picture of the inside last night too, he didn't post it on eBay because he said he didn't want to post the inside because people usually think something is broken if you show the inside... I don't know his logic about that...
