The Chemung County Amateur Radio Emergancy Sevice will hold it's 27th annual hamfest Saturday September 28,2002 at the Chemung County fairgrounds in Horseheads.Gates open at 6:00 AM, admission is $5.00(I think) and no charge for tailgating.This is a great fest with a big fleamarket and usally over $5,000 in door prizes.Talk-in is on 146.70- and 444.20.On 11 meters check Ch 19 or 27.425 LSB for locals for directions.For more info check

I recommend this hamfest to anyone in reasonable driving distance,If you go,stop by and say hello. I will be in the fleamarket under the pirate radio flag or on FRS Ch 6(no PL).

Glad to see a talk in on .425.Will 12 New York let us use his freq. ? This is always a good hamfest and lots of 11 meter equipt.I will have a table there with plenty of HR2510,s |

After going through miles of paperwork and a large rental fee, "Unit 12" will allow others on .425 on a secondary basis!!!I am very grateful for this even though he is still a mudduck.I'll see you and Ted at the fest.

I think the the threat of rain held the crowds and vendors back.The flea market was only 2/3 the size it usally is.I hope Barefoot and Honkytonk Man made out better than I did.I did about $150 in sales, all small stuff like power cords,mic plugs and a few pairs of FRS radios.Next year the gates won't open til 8:00 (7:00 for vendors).This is fine with me,I never liked the idea of standing on wet grass before dawn.I hope to see you both at the Elmira winterfest in February.

sold a lot of wire at 1$ a pop...so that was like 35$ in wire sales. sold my maco linear , one tow hitch for 30$. and then went out and bought 200$ worth of stuff..lol love it. |
