On most websites, it says the frequency range after modification is 26-30 Mhz. Since I have no intention of running 28-30Mhz, is there anyway to tune the linear for 24-28Mhz instead? OR will it already work lower than 26Mhz? My Palomar 250 Gold will key up even on 21Mhz, I tested it on my modded 2950DX. But I bought this KLV unit from the aution to have a base linear. Will it work? Or is there a way to tune it to a lower frequency? Thanks in advance! |

Yes the KLV will work at 24 MHz (12 meters) with no problem , I have even used one on 21 MHZ (15 meters) with no trouble. 307 |

I got my KLV-350 Today! Wonderful amp, I mean it ain't a big gun, but it sure does kick some skip for such a TINY size! WOW! Haven't tried it on any export bands yet, just 27.025 AM (ch 6), just said audio for about 10 seconds to test the LOW side 200 watt output and had 2 people in California back to me saying you have clean audio alright! I told them I was in Ohio and on a 200 watt linear, then they said "sure you are, we all are only 200 watts... what are you really on?" I thought that was a wow, but then I tried 27.385 LSB on the low side also... talked to an 807 in Pheonix for about 5 minutes on the weather and what not! Very very pleased!!! But one thing I noticed, on my Dosy TC-3001 it says I'm swinging to 550 watts PEP on the high side. My Astatic 700's, MFJ 817's and my Radio shack all tell me I'm swinging 300 watts PEP and 380 watts RMS... what is up with that? More RMS swing than PEP? Whats that all about? When my radio is barefoot, the Dosy's show my Galaxy DX99 (NPC Modded without volting finals) swinging almost 50 watts PEP, the others all tell me about 30 watts PEP, and swinging 10 watts RMS from a 1 watt dead key. Is there something about the amp that gives me more RMS out than PEP on high? On low the RMS and PEP almost match each other... the RMS is only a little less than the PEP. On my Siltronix and Palomar linears, they all show me more PEP than RMS, except the KLV350... any ideas anyone??? |
