ive cophased 2 antron's vertically and made a harness out of rg11,no certain length but made sure they were exactly the same length on each side of the tee conector. ive got them spaced about 4-6 feet apart from the bottom of the top one to the top of the lower one, witch uses a pdl2 boom as a stand off from the tower. it has a vswr of about 2:1 witch is much higher than i like to run. i first installed this set up on a hinged 25ft pole and it worked great for me on it with a vswr of 1.3:1 and seemed very broad banded it covered 24.80's to 29.teens with under a 2 vswr. not the case now it seems to have the normal band width of a single antron 99.(witch may be corect anyway?) i did no special tuning, both had a good vswr as singles so i through them up. should i have tuned them in one at a time with the cophasing harness and a dummy load as the other antennas and switch over and do the other to get a more proper match between antennas? id like to run this setup as i can tell a differance in both rx and tx over a single antron but would like your input on this matter thanx bullet |

Well Bullet, what do you think the difference is? Since you ruled out the phasing harness as being the problem, there should be no difference. I doubt it, but the additional mass of the tower could come into play here. Does it still show an improvement over a single A99 when attached in the new position? With the exception of the mounting position, is the system, including the feed line, exactly the same? Marconi |

marconi ive not ruled out the harness yet,yes it has improved rx/tx over a single a99,every things exactly the same. except its now on the tower. and im thinking its two close to it at 6 foot.and maybe i could have tuned them in together to better things abit? |
