I want to mount my Wilson 1000 on my NEW pickup......it's magnet mount. How do I keep it from scarring the paint? I know I should mount it as high as possible and use the truck roof as a ground plane. Any suggestions? Hank |

Hank, The way I always mount my Wilson Mag Mount is I put a Heavy Duty Plastic Sandwich bag under Magnet, works great and also helps when you want to take magnet off. No Scratches and Stays in Place. Lon tech808 |

I use a peice of thick/thin cloth under my magnet. |

Just about anything from cloth to plastic bags to wax paper will work....Just remember that dirt will eventually work its way under whatever you use. Occasionaly you should remove the mag mount and replace whatever you use underneath it to avoid any scratches |

If you are a serious about radio than just drill a hole in the roof and go for it!!! |

A thin sheet of teflon works best. Make sure to remove it and the antenna at least once a week and wax the area then buff clean. |
