I need one so I can play with my mobile radios in the house.Copper offers a 4.5 amp one for $29.00.According to my calculations it should be plenty for my standard am/ssb radios, what about my Galaxy 99.Is there any tricks I need to know about power supplies? |

Chris142, My suggestion would be to at least get the PR-7 if not the PR-10. Getting the extra power now would save you a lot of trouble later. COPPERS PR-7 is designed for most SSB radios and the PR-10 would handle most SSB radios you might get in the future. They are a little more money now but I am sure you would be happy. COPPERS EURO 10 AMP meter also has the advantage of the meters and tune dial for the same price as the Tripplite PR-10. http://www.copperelectronics.com/cgi-bin/checkitout/checkitout.cgi?catalogSTORE:CKIE:prodE01-03008+ Just my thought's. Chris it should work but let me give you some hard learned addvice lets say a year down the road you decide to go ham now you can use you 99 on 10 meters and even build a amp to go with it but now your supply is useless. Now on the + side at 30 bucks thats still hard to beat and worth your investment so if your not going to expand your base go get it otherwise i found for the money a 20 -30 amp will run most 100-200 watt stations with room to spair. |

Personal experience.... Make sure it is a "Regulated" power supply and if the next one up/better is just a few bucks more go for it. You can never tell about the future. |

Chris142, the Galaxy99 is a hi output radio. It has duel finals which requires more amps. A 10 or 12 amp will work fine.. I suggest getting a 20 amp if you want to run more than one radio. |
