Well, I posted this question on "Ask the Tech", But didn't get no answer. So I'll give a shot here on the open forum.
I have a President Jackson mobile that doesn't have any finals in it. I was wondering if anybody out here knows the driver and final numbers in that rig...I'm trying to bring this oldie back to life..Any info would be appreciated....Thanks

Two of the three Jacksons of mine have MRF-477 as finals.I'm not sure about the third,it's in the YL's car.Are the 1969 and the 477 interchangable?I hear the 477 is no longer in production and you now pay big $$ for them.

Uhh, somebody should mention that the PINOUT of the MRF477 and MRF497 are NOT the same as the 2SC2312/2SC1969!!!. The center leg (and tab end) of the MRF parts is the EMITTER. That's right, the GROUND leg. All the Japanese-style CB/Export finals and drivers have the collector (THE HOT LEG) lead on the center leg/tab. To switch from one type (Motorola) to the other (Jap) means CROSSING legs from the transistor to the circuit board. You'll need some thin teflon tubing to keep them from touching where they cross. If you solder them in straight (MRF in a board meant for JAP parts, or JAP part in a board meant for the MRF) you will get smoke and popped parts. Several, usually. The sub can be made, but don't assume just because they look alike that they CONNECT alike. It's not quite that simple just because it looks that way. The circuit board connections will be laid out to match the part they designed it for.
