So there is room to mount the speaker in the bottom of the radio. If they mounted it on the top and you needed to actually put it in a car, the sound would be muffled and interrupted by the dash. |

Taz, most are made with the boards upside down so there is room for the speakers as most radios are mounted under the dash, which allows the sound to come out from the bottom, for better sound. Would be kinda muffled mounted tight against the bottom of dash. Also allows you to ad switches to bottom of radio for toys. And mount those AMPS underneath for better Air flow to keep the puppies COOOOOOOOOOL. I THINK? IT SOUNDS GOOD ANYWAY! Lon tech808 |

Because the cold solder joints dont show up as well...... ill bet its because the speaker on most radios is on the bottom |

because the speaker has to be on the bottom of the radio, so the magnet would get in the way of the circuit board. |

...every body knows why they they mount the circuit boards upside down in a radio...so you got to flip it over on its belly to work on its insides !! Just like humans, when you do surgery on a persons heart, lungs or stomach..you dont go in thru the BACk side, you go in from the belly side.....BIG FOOT |

707 i thought they put it on the botton because electrons flow easer down hill and would enter the speaker with greater forse that way. Thanks for the magnet idea i never thought of that ( LOL) |

...TAZ...( 56 t-bird ) told you the correct answer, but I am inclined to agree with BRUCE and the "gravity and electrons" concept....BIG FOOT |

Taz. Serious. The board is upside down to accomodate the speaker magnet with the speaker in the bottom. Otherwise, you would either have a big hole in the middle of the circuit board or make the cabinet twice as tall. |

When was the last time you opened your radio to dust the inside?...Their upside down so dust dosn't settle on the board, requiring them to be dusted...Hmmmm...and you thought it was for some other reason?...If dust were to settle on the kanewton module it would make it impossible to get out ....just wanted to clear that up.... |

Why not make the speaker one of those piezo electric types, then there would be no magnet and no need to turn the board upside down as they are virtually flat. He,he... |

Hey guys, all the boards are not upside down, the little popular HR2510 is one of them. You gotta take the top off it to get to the adjustments. They raised the main board in it, and put the speaker under it, and toward the back on the bottom side. The magnet is pretty close to the foil side of the board, but I don't guess it hurts anything. |

And think how thin the case could be with SMT heck turn the radio sideways and it goes away! |

Dosent the 2510 also have a 110 volt hookup? If it does its more of a base so it wouldnt be upside down. |

Actually the truth is , you are standing upside down because of gravity and the earths rotation so this puts the board in the radio right side up..But then the radio is really upside down , correct? 307 |

The rf signal from the transmiter twist and turns through the air before it reaches the receiving end. The board is upside down to make sure the signal leaves at the propper "angle" so the receiver is able to pick it up correctly instead of upside down and garbled.Kinda like playing an old record backwards. I wont go into the math it took to figure out this one. |
