Watch out peaking and tuning that thing too much. It's a good box but very prone to smoke emission if operated for too long in a mistuned mode. I had one years ago. $450 is not too bad(IMO..I only paid $250 for mine and it was like new in box), but if it's cherry with nice chrome and new tubes, hey, what the heck! You only live once! |

Hey 389 You will love your Skipper. I have one that has the original tubes and still swings to 450 on the high side. I keep it on low to save those 8950's. Anyway, everybody in the New Orleans area says that my base sounds so good.. G T O |

389 - I had a Palomar 200x(I THINK IT WAS CALLED THAT) in the 70's and wanted another tube amp when I got back into radio a few years ago. I got it from an auction for $200.. |

got a heck of a deal once on a Henry 2KD Classic. 2 hole'r (3-500ZG), runs 220v, weighs about 90 lbs and bought it for $450. Does about 1.6K, but it's alot bigger than the 300A...had one of those. Nice little amp. Used to have what I think was a Maco-Pow B5. Ran 5 tubes (1x4). That was the cleanest used amp I ever bought and am sorry i ever sold it. very clean.--GL |
