Many forum users have emailed me with a valid complaint, the discussion of the Ham versus Cb and legal issues has gotten out of hand and is detracting from their enjoyment of the forum. Even though this is a predominantly a CB forum Hams as well as CBers are welcome here. Discussions about which is better Ham or CB has been going on since the CB band was created. The debate will be with us for some time to come. Legal issues are also a point of heated debate and will also be with us for quite some time. So... From this point on anyone who wants to discuss Ham versus CB or legal issues will only be allowed to do so in the "CB versus Ham or Legal Discussion Area" section. Any post concerning these two issues that are not in the "CB versus Ham or Legal Discussion Area" section will be rejected. |

thanks forum master. i really get tired of seeing those posts. now i know that anything in that section isn't worth clicking on(atleast not to me). and yes i am a ham, but i(and obviously most others here) could care less about 99% of the post f.master is referring to. |

Thank you Mr Forum Master. I've read enough from the same 3 or 4 people about what's legal and the greatness of ham radio, to last me a life time. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, just don't try to force it on others that could care less. I've noticed from the majority of people that post on here, you will never know if we are Hams, Cb'ers or both, and thats the way it should be, just people with a common interest, Radio. I've also noticed from dealing with hams, cb'ers and other nuts over the years, that's its the brand new no code techs with his 2 meter HT on his belt, that generally have the 'attitude', but it wears off after they've been around a while, expecially after they get their first cussin' if they manage to ever get on HF. |

...yep, nuthin like a cussing you get when your passenger gets in an argument over the cb ( hf ) with a 18 - wheeler that is riding your bumper, and all I was driving was a Ford Pinto, my passenger was arguing with him, NOT me...arguing with some one a few block or a mile or so away aint nuthin till you got 70,000 or 80,000 pounds of raw semi truck riding your bumper...shucks and I was just the DRIVER, with NO microphone in my hand, just the steering wheel !!. The truck driver backed off, could see who had the mic in their hand ( it was NOT me ), and passed us on by and was still laughing as he rolled out of sight. The passenger eventually became a minister/lawyer...(lol)..... PRAISE the LORD...BIG FOOT |

Thanks ever so much! I get sooooo very sick of the legal that get poasted all the time on the regular forums. I myself give a toot less about hams and legal BS.. I know the rules and regs and have a FCC rule book but i get sick of getting it crammed down my throat by some guys that are hams and think they know it all and more than likely dont even have a CB radio! |

I don't know if this post will make it... but here it goes anyways... I'm not going to debate what is legal or who is better... but it doesn't matter if it's in the open forum or not. If you don't want to read something, then DON'T READ IT! If you don't like someone cussin you on 19, then change the channel or shut it off! It gets on everyones nerves so much that they have to move the whole thread because they don't want to see it... take my advice... JUST STOP READING IT AND DON'T LOOK THEN... isn't that easier than moving it away and pretending it doesn't exisist? Anyways... I thought no matter what is said, true/false/whatever that freedom of speach is absolute in America... thats why I hope this post shows up... I should be able to say whatever I want to... if you don't like it... you don't have to read it! Just my 2 cents on everything! '56 T-Bird

Well stated 56 T-Bird. I can't see what all the fuss is about as I always took the section Open Forum to mean just that: an area where Copper's customers could discuss almost any issue (Copper always reserves the right to not post material outside of its values) whether it pertains to radio or not. Although, I think the discourse of legal issues is important enough to have a dedicated section. Thanks Forum Master. I view the move as a good thing, just another way Copper shows they are listening to their customer's needs. |

O no Copper has spoken!!! By the mere act of regulating those post to just one area are you not violating the rights of those that post (to post) in any thread?? I think you have!!!!! ( Moderator558 Note : just giving another "branch-off" of the open section as the topics were so many it was harder to find the other topics. The Ham vs CB is a open section just easier to find topics that may have a more specific interest to different individuals,,,,73 - Moderator558) |

Brings to mind an old saw: "Freedom of the press belongs to the owner of the press". An old rule, and so long as it's Copper's nickel paying the bills to run this forum, it's their call. Period. One reason I have been hanging around this forum instead of some other ones is BECAUSE it IS moderated. More like a disucussion than like a CB channel. Suits me. There are still plenty of other internet "streetcorners" where you are free to cuss whomever you like. And we're all free to stay away from. Remember, "Free Speech" isn't quite the same thing as "Free Beer". 73 |

GEEZ were not that bad. 66 of your posts that were posted to this forum. 66 of your posts not posted to this Forum. = 122 of your posts on this subject. Keep sending them I will put in overtime to get them posted for you. Lon tech808 |

Bigfoot. Could it be that what up post is mostly poo poo? I would say the reason it doesnt get posted is because it has nothing to do with the thread!!! |

...curiosity...what is the averages for other folks here...like TAZ...BRUCE...FREEZERMAN...FUNTIME BOB...Z NUT...INSIDER... curiosity asking..not really need a reply, just picking on the MODERATORS who have a tough job deciding what is put "on screen " and what is thrown away into "file 13"...you folks do a really great job at keeping it CLEAN and organized...cause AFTER it shows up ON SCREEN, it is TOO late to remove a few days later !! You have to remember, that each time YOU send something, it is a PERMANENT record, with date and time you sent it (oops)...BIG FOOT |

Hello all, I can't remember the exact number of my posts, but I'll try and give a brief history. Several were on the subject of Antennas There were some in the thread regarding Taz's KLV and SWR. A few appeared regarding Cobra 2000s. One regarding A VC100. A few regarding a problem with my KLV 200 (which I rarely use these days). Two or three regarding my 2950. A few in the Power Supply thread in this forum. Some in a thread regarding a fellow inquiring as to what he can get on a budget in place of his hand held CB. A few in the thread about dimstar getting his ham license, which I think is where the whole Freezerman issue got started--don't quote me on that though, he,he. Some in the legal discussion area about a hypothetical new band. At least one in the Ham v. CB Why thread. Lastly one thread I started as a kind of satire to poke fun at the whole if it's connected to the phone system it's illegal to listen to law, but the satire was poorly constructed and it sounded too serious (see thread expert opinion sought). I know I left some threads out and I apologize for not haveing the exact numbers, but 1 year ago to now is a long time of reading and ocassionally responding. Oh by the way, of all the posts I made, only one didn't appear on the board. It was a post to the CB versus Ham and Legal Discussion Area/A Question of Legality. It was a short response, no profanity or personal attacks or anything of the like in it. I figure it probably didn't get sent properly or somehow got lost in the mix. No big deal. If I was that concerned about having my opinion heard, I would have sent it again, which I did not. I haven't even gone near the settlement thread other than to read it. Yes I have an opinion on the thread itself, not the issue it raised, but I won't give that here. The thread did raised a side issue I feel strongly about which is not related to radio and something I wouldn't address even in the open forum as it would not be appropriate. I hope this gives a rough answer to the question as I think it's unfair to ask the moderators to comment on the average number of posts--both accepted and rejected--made by any one individual on the forum. |

BigFoot, A number of your posts recently have been insulting to other forum members. Their sole purpose seems to be to instigate arguments rather than forward the conversation. Your posts will continue to be refused as long as they continue this tone. |
