Can these units be converted for extra channels? How would you rate them on a scale of 1-10? Comments? |

Howdy Wildbill, this just a suggestion, why not get a export Galaxy that already has the extra channels in it and have it converted for 11 meter usage. The fine folks at copper can do that you know.(shamless plug)lol. |

Wildbill Maby im wrong but why would you buy a 959 then want to put in " extras " why not just go get a export radio cut one jumper and its done. I had 2 959's and bought them becaues there " CB " radios i did not like the way they worked and sold them. For that kina money you could buy a mag 257 and have 5000 ch. bruce |

Yes they can be converted similar to the grant and 148. I think they are nice rigs for the price if you want a 40ssb rig. |

i own one and the varible pwr is really nice to have along with the varible talkbalk.my opion it makes those 148cobras look like a p.o.s. and if the 148 is so great why didnt they come up with these features first. huum oh i owned a cobra 148 am modulation sucked unless you clip the audio limiter witch is dumb. the galaxy had awsome modulation on am everyone thinks im running a 99v thumbs-up to galaxy |
